First published in 1904, Skene did several revisions, the last of which was published in 1938 and reprinted here in its original form. In 1962, the book was completely revised by Francis S. Kinney and re-published as Skene's Elements of Yacht Design. Kinney's last version was in 1973 and it is long out of print.

While the experts are divided on the relative merits of the different editions, it appears that there is strong demand for Skene's original work. And so both Divine Revelation and private revelation can inform us about the Three Days of Darkness. After the Three Days of Darkness, all is not lost. Immediately, a time of great peace and holiness ensues, and the survivors rebuild society, in devout fear of God. For the Three Days of Darkness is the last event of the first part of the tribulation, after which occurs a brief time of peace, lasting about 25 years. This time of peace is the beginning of the inter-tribulation period. This booklet is divided into three sections: (1) The Three Days of Darkness in Sacred Scripture, (2) The Three Days of Darkness in Private Revelation, (3) A Brief Time of Peace, Holiness, and Rebuilding.
